One of the all time great books. I hope the movie is at least decent. I love the casting of Will Smith in the lead role, but I worry that the movie is going to be too "big budget".

There are already two perfectly fine adaptations. Do some other Matheson.

On the plus side I like the trailer and think that Lawerence does have the stuff to be a pretty decent genre filmmaker.

That looks pretty cool. I'd like to see it. I haven't seen any of the other movies, nor have I read the book. Actually, the only Matheson book I've read was Legend of Hell House, and I never got through it.

The movie theater where I work actually just got posters in for this, and nobody knew what it was. Maybe now that I'm all educated and know that it looks fucking sweet, I might have to snag one.

I betcha they have some new "twist" on the twist ending.

I hope at some point of the movie Will Smith will say "Aw HELL NAW."

I will watch this movie, and I've always meant to watch the other ones, but I've been to lazy to go and actively search for copies. After reading the book, I imagined that it would be better suited as a TV miniseries. And I am Legend and the Legend of Hell House is one of my favorite books.

I knew someone would post this before I got to work. I have been looking forward to this movie since it was first announced (I didn't like "The Omega Man" much but I did enjoy "Last Man on Earth").

Hopefully they will do the book justice with the contemporary setting.

I don't know anything about any book or movie, but the trailer was intriguing. I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic stories.

No offense, but that looks like a horribly depressing movie.

I think I'll pass.

Cause lord knows depressing movies are never worthwhile.

You should check out the book. It is actually fairly short and can be read in a couple of hours.

It would not be difficult to find something more enjoyable then The Omega Man.

C'mon It's awesome. If only for the scene of Chuck enraptured by the Woodstock Documentary.

Along with Chuck's interacial lovin That has enough awesome to power ten movies.

This movie needs to capture the essence of the book's ending: to make the audience becomes aware of who the monster in this story truly is.

I don't even know really what the ending is, so I'm pretty excited. I have basically no knowledge of this, other than that there are vampires or something. So I'm intrigued. Long time to wait, though.

I'd argue that The Last Man On Earth did that just fine.

I promise that I will yell that out loud as I walk out of the theater if this movie ends up being not so good. However, the trailer gives me confidence that I will not have to.

I'm hoping that this will make up for "I, Robot."

I've decided to watch a bunch of Will Smith movies and post in my LJ which movies he says "AW HELL NAW" in. It'll take a while, but it'll be a blast.

I saw Bad Boys 2 in the theater.

And... I had a good time. They took my cinephile card and my limited edition Ran collectors set away from me for that grave sin.

I think he actually says "Aw, hell no" in I, Robot. I'm not sure if that counts.

He probably says "Naw," later, though.

I will accept any variations of the phrase "AW HELL NAW" such as "AW HELL NO", "OH HELL NO", OR "WIKI WIKI WILD WILD WEST". Maybe not the last one as much.

Its definitely worth it Marten. Its public Domain so you can pick it up more or less any dollar store in the country.

It's well worth it. Suprisingly realistic looking post apocalyptic world, great performance by Price (as the hero for once), and suprisingly creepy at times. Good flick.

You can also download it from Cult of UHF already formatted for iPOD.
