Two LA industrial/death metal bands are touring: Dawn of Ashes (https://www.facebook.com/dawnofashesofficial) and Psyclon Nine (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Psyclon-Nine/125011530660). On Monday I saw them play in Orlando along with two other acts: MissFit Toys (https://www.facebook.com/MissFitToys) from Orlando and Die Sektor (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Die-Sektor-Official/139271376102530) from Atlanta. I haven't listened to this kind of music much before, but the music wasn't the only reason I came:

This is my second cousin, Jon. I met him for the first time here and now! He drummed for both Dawn of Ashes and Psyclon Nine. What a trooper!

This girl glowed in the black light.

MissFit Toys was the first act.

Die Sektor was the second act.

Dawn of Ashes was the third act. Kristof Bathory, their lead singer, did a lot of shock antics: He poured bottled water on the audience, gurgled blood, and burned and tore a bible. I brought home Proverbs 18.

Many of the audience had impressive costumes as well, such as the girl in the lower left with the dust mask.

Psyclon Nine was the final act.

I think this couple proposed onstage.

Cheers for efficient, LED floodlights! Boo for never changing color during the show!

I apologize for not making any comments about the music itself. I'm still new to this stuff and don't know how to compare it to anything. Fortunately, I shot this video montage of the event, so you can see and hear more for yourself.

At 3:00, some guys in the audience under the colored lights shoved each other around. Although it was the first time I saw people do that, it seemed like a mosh pit tradition.

These bands are touring (http://dawnofashesofficial.com/tours/) until October 5, so catch them if you can!
