I'm normally not one for posting Stupid Internet Videos, but this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmaltChJnV0&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Edigitalmonkeybox%2Ecom%2Fo kkusenman%5Fmega%5Fman%5Frock%5Fsong%2Ehtm) is possibly the greatest rendition of any Mega Man song ever.

You can find more info about it here (http://www.digitalmonkeybox.com/okkusenman_mega_man_rock_song.htm), if you're interested.

Great voice or greatest voice?

I can't watch it right now, but if this is the mega man theme with the hyperactive Japanese lyrics, then I would say "greatest voice".

It is.

Oh, it is.

This is the greatest Mega Man vocal thingy since I heard that A Capella version of Snakeman's theme.

I have no idea to this day what those two Japanese ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are better left unsaid. I'd like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can't be expressed in words, and it makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a grey place dares to dream. It was as if some beautiful bird had flapped into our drab little cage and made these walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Talking Time felt free.

sounds like they're singing about ultraman.

Mega man 2 has brought so much joy into the world.

Yeah, now that you point it out, I can hear it. Weird, I would have assumed Ultraman would be kanafied (or whatever you call the opposite of romanization) as Arutoraman. They also repeat the word okusenman, which simply means 110 000 000.

The 'hardcore' version is considerably less fun 'cause the singer has some actual vocal ability. The rock one rules cause it's like William Hung on amphetamines.

Why am I incapable of finding an mp3 of this? I would think that material this golden would've long since proliferated already.

Heck, I'm surprised there isn't a more comprehensive site that compiles all the versions ala jedimaster.net by now.

The site I linked to originally (http://www.digitalmonkeybox.com/okkusenman_mega_man_rock_song.htm) has links to a ton (but nowhere near all) of the vids that are out there.

Wait... Metal Man didn't die in one hit by his own weapon.

There's a lot of crazy stuff going on in that video. I'm assuming the clips are taken from one of those ridiculous Mega Man 2 speed runs. Probably the original Morimoto (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/48976.html) one.

Only one of the greatest video game tunes ever could withstand such an adaptation and still be awesome.

Wait... Metal Man didn't die in one hit by his own weapon.
The video looks like it's on hard mode... I don't remember offhand if he dies in one hit on hard mode. I rarely used the metal blade against him because I thought it was fun to fight him normally.

That's one of the things that leads me to believe that the clips are from Morimoto's run of the game, seeing as our hard mode was actually just the regular difficulty level of Rockman 2.

As much as I completely appreciate the link, it's not the same without the guy who can't quite hit those high notes but is damn well gonna sing the song anyway because it's so AWESOME.

[Continuing threadjack...] Yeah, MySpace had turned me off social networking sites, but after a friend continually hounded me to join and I finally did, I find it is pretty nice. Although, my frame of reference is that it enforces a relatively aesthetically pleasing layout and doesn't play someone's favorite song to me when I go to their page.

My MySpace account is cold and dead, but I use Facebook to keep in touch with RL friends ... and find old classmates. Yeah, I didn't want to, but I couldn't resist.

Blegh (I like starting posts with really unpleasant sounds/words/sound-words. Sets the proper tone), I've actually still got a myspace for some reason. I think I signed up so that I could become friends with Daniel Craig's cat on there, but then I chickened out and never sent a friend request.

I mean, what if Daniel Craig's cat rejects me? Jesus, I'd never recover from that.

You guys are making me feel like I'm fifty. I don't have a Myspace or Facebook page. Besides, I don't think I'd want to meet up with any of my highschool class. That, and I've got some stupid relatives who are avid users that I absolutely do not want to connect with on any level, so...

Psst! Hey guys...

This is from japan, which means they are playing Japanese Rockman 2. There is no Normal/Hard mode. In japan, normal IS hard.

That's what I was saying there, though admittedly I wasn't quite able to wrangle that sentence into anything coherent. The game being played is Rockman 2. In fact, I checked last night and indeed, it's pretty certain that the clips specifically came from the Morimoto video.
