Hi, how are you? It's been awhile since I last wrote a thread to you; no news is good news, eh?

Anyway, I'm writing this to appeal to your love of literature and ask that you create a seperate area of the site for books again. All of the scant book threads are being pushed further down by the more flashy movie and music threads, and it makes me sad. I know it's a little easier for you to moderate with only four areas to cover, but I think you could handle a small fifth one. You're a capable guy, and the book club has, regrettably, always had less discussion than the rest of the forum anyway.

Besides, the descriptor still says, "None of that passive reading crap. This is about loud, obnoxious, brain-destroying trash like TV and film and music. Annoy your neighbors here." C'mon, now. Steve Guttenburg must be spinning in his grave.

p.s. I put this in the PoF because it's more likely to be seen here.

Haven't you heard? Print is dead.

Hey, I still want names and avatars moved to the side of posts instead of on top, but I've long given up hope that Parish will ever make that happen. He is a capricious dictator.

Are you sure he isn't rather a Benevolent Philosopher King?

Rather have a capricious dictator than an oppressive one. Makes life interesting, y'know?

But but but...books. Books are awesome. Books.

Now, let me ask you: do you want a tolerant and well reasoned system of governance, or do you want to be lead down a path of blood, terror, and strife by the brainsick ravings of a cackling, impossibly mad reprobate? Well then, get burning!

Might I humbly request that Mr Parish at least change the description of the Active Media sub-forum to not exclude print then? Or even change the name to Talking About Other Media?

More like a Dude Who Sucks at HTML.

It doesn't matter how many times you deny me, Parish, I'll keep fighting the good fight!

Cue "Eye of the Tiger."

The music video with the band always cracks me up. It's like half a dozen nearly-identical dark haired dudes in leather jackets looking cool, plus one incredibly homely dork with glasses and a blond mullet banging away on the keyboards.

I only read books when I'm away from home. Like now.

Any refelection of the outside world is merely a coincidence. I like having book threads next to movie and music threads because there is a better chance of someone reading my opinions about comic books and telling me how brilliant I am, etc.

Parish probably won't change the descriptor because I bet he can't think of a better one. Oh, snap!
