Literature Sommelier - Recommended Music/Reading Pairings

Johnny Unusual

(He/Him)
I like to read with some music playing. I'm going to reread the original Frankenstein. What music would go well with that?

Same question but for Drifting Classroom and the original Swamp Thing run from the 70s.

Drifting Classroom - Les Dallizes Denudes: Heavier Than a Death In The Family/'77 Live

Swamp Thing (Wrightson run) - First thing that comes to me is the headier 60s Scott Walker stuff (Scott 3 and 4); something like BoC or Atomic Rooster (or some spooky equivalent- is Sabbath TOO obvious?) is probably the easier pick

Behemoth

Dostoevsky is immortal!
(he/him/his)
I don't know that it's a fitting soundtrack for the entire book, but I was listening to the song "Sunbather" by Deafheaven while finishing Moby Dick. My favorite moment in that song (maybe in any Deafheaven song) is the build up to and then the blistering drum assault at minute six. The mental image of Ahab perched in the prow of a whaling boat as his men furiously row out to meet the white monster will forever be entwined with those drums.
