You know? I love it when the puns in the title write themselves.

Anyhow, XBLA leads the charge this week with Plants vs. Zombies, which is a port of a popular PC Tower Defense game that I was wholly unfamiliar with up until about 20 minutes ago. There are some who would complain as loudly as the internet will allow them that the XBLA version costs $5 more then the PC, but this version apparently has extra content coming out the wazoo, so it's an even trade.

There's also a conspicuous amount of the "Costs money" kind of DLC already available, but I'm not sure if thats for the game or for dressing up your Avatar or something.

Anyhow, you can now have adorable shrubs effortlessly thwart a zombie uprising from the comfort of your couch. Suck on THAT, Romero!

This weeks OTHER XBLA game is the much less exciting Dance! It's Your Stage, which is your general DDR knock-off. But you can dress up your character, which I do not believe DDR allows. So you've got that going for you.

PSN leads with TerOver, which is another one of those games I know nothing about except what is written in the product description. It's full of "2D physics", "Puzzling Arcade levels" and "wheel rotation". I'm curious enough to give the demo a download, but beyond that.... no idea whats going on here.

PSP got a couple of downloadble titles this week, starting with Ace Combat: Joint Assault. Strangely, despite my love of the genre, my only experience with the AC series was Ace Combat 6... which decided to let you wait until the end of the game before the missions started getting awesome, and gave you a brief, horrible movie between every level. God willing this one doesn't have the expression "Go fly with the angels" in it anywhere.

Finally we've got HTKH SBK World Championship, and I'm sure that motorbike enthusiasts will know what any of those letters besides "World" and "Championship" stand for.

...hell, I only know it's a motorbiking game since the description consists soley of the sentence "Experience the ultimate motorbike racing thrill"

And there you have it. Now s'cuse me while I mow down zombies with flowers.

Plants vs. Zombies is the best game. But when you say it costs 5 bucks more than on PC, you mean they're selling it for 1200 points? That's still totally worth it, I must have sunk 30+ hours into that game on the PC.

Plants vs. Zombies is aces...and I don't even like tower defense games.

The fact that you can play vs with one player as the Zombies is so worth the extra 5 bucks.

If you don't already own PvZ on PC you should most defiantly check it out on the 360.

One of the best games ever... and one of the most awesome music videos of all history.

I've looked all over and can't find either a level select, or a way to start Plants and Zombies' campaign over from the beginning after having partially completed it. Anybody?

On the PC, you could just make a new user profile. Is that an option on the Xbox?

I came very close to buying PvZ last night (again), but fate intervened before it could happen. I'm still thinking about it, but since I'm mostly interested in the co-op modes, I was wondering if anyone here had bought the game and could tell me a bit more about them. In the demo, you can try playing the main mode (Adventure or something) with two players. This is neat, but it also makes a fairly easy game even easier, since one person can slow the zombies down with butter while the other one builds. I read in some review somewhere that you can up the difficulty level in co-op mode, but I wasn't sure if it applied to Adventure mode, or only to the separate co-op stuff. For that matter, what exactly are the other co-op missions like? Enquiring minds want to know!

Ace Combat: Joint Assault (http://www.gamerankings.com/psp/985982-ace-combat-joint-assault/index.html) is currently the highest rated game EVER on gamerankings.com, with an average review rating of 159%. PSX Extreme liked it so much they got super radical and gave it 85 out of 10! Or gamerankings.com screwed up the scale, but that's a really minor possibility

Gamerankings screwed up, it's supped to be an 85% not 85/10. That's still hilarious though.

I could believe it, if they took out that phrase.
