Ok, I am currently working out a character design for a new comic and trying to settle on a hairstyle for her and taking in some feedback.

A seems to fit the punk/goth/suicide-girl look you're going for a bit better overall.

Ah! That is exactly what I was going for! But so far you are the first person to give me that reaction.

Anyone who doesn't get that reaction to Haircut A: Do you have any advice for how to modify it?

Could you post a bit more about the character? I personally like the 2nd hairstyle better but it would be nice to know her personality to make sure it suits her.

I like A better because the hair-dangling-in-front-of-your-eye look has always annoyed me.

I like Hairstyle A because it balances out her face (it should be rounded at the top though). Hairstyle B isn't full enough, so her facial features look too big.

Well let's see, she's one of those goth-punk hybrid sorts. Very outgoing and impulsive. One could say she's got a bit of a lack of regard for personal boundaries. I feel like hairstyle A gives a more Bad Girl impression while hairstyle B is a more Wild Girl impression but Bad Girl is more the visual vibe I want her to evoke, despite what's been said about her personality thus far.

A side note for why I'm leaning towards Hairstyle A is because this character has an older sister who has a very messy, grungy look, and a hairstyle that is pretty similar to hairstyle B already, but much longer and green*. I like the more clean-cut contrast hairstyle A gives in that context.

Another reason I'm attracted to hairstyle A is because it's outside my comfort zone. I usually do characters with hairstyles that are parted and/or otherwise bangless, so I'm trying to do something beyond my usual typecast.

Despite all that I am still very eager to hear feedback and I much appreciate what I've got so far. Please let me know any other thoughts/reactions you have.

EDIT: Sloppy lines are a result of the zoom I was at when I screencapped this in photoshop!

Yeah, everything you posted makes A a better choice.

I like B but it looks very sporty. Like she's just finished surfing or something.

Bonus Post!

I just plain like how this guy's hair came out:

I went with hairstyle A for a wide variety of reasons but many thanks to all the people who gave me input because it helped a lot with my decision! I'll be tinkering with it oh so slightly in the final product and things should come out nice.

I don't normally share my creative stuffs here but here's the rest of that color roughs sheet by the time I was finished with it.

I came in too late, but I thought it was amusing that before I read the thread I was going to ask if you'd tried the front half of B with the back half of A... which is practically the style you already had for her sister.
