Eduard Khil, a Russian singer better known as "Mr. Trololo," died on Monday from complications of a stroke. He was 77.

Honestly, I can't think of a more joyful 2.5 minutes that's been recorded and put on the internet. Pretty saddened by this news.

This is one of the saddest days ever for the Internet.
I feel the opposite - I'd always assumed he'd been dead for years on account of being Russian. That he lasted this long is something to celebrate!

He seemed like a pretty friendly guy. Like the kind that you hope, but never quite dare to believe, that Neil Patrick Harris would be.

If you can ignore the vapid-looking Russian celebrities, his final big public performance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=PL8CD8PjVmA) (just a few months ago!) is amazing, and really rather sweet. The camerawork is great, and he is wearing a bow tie.
