I noticed a lot of Italo Disco tags, I assume it's some sort of HILARIOUS JOKE but Italo Disco is the best fucking genre of music ever (http://youtu.be/YXTor_NUPIE) so why don't we post some?

FANCY (http://youtu.be/0bs66fVgrG8)

Moonlight Affair, forever (http://youtu.be/NqnM4O9q7Lw)

Brown Eyes!!!!!! (http://youtu.be/eh-cJmEom74)

Don't be afraid to go outside the remit! This is the best music and anyone who disagrees is obviously touched in the head. Genre labels!? Fuck 'em!

I remember Tyrant Radio liked this one a while back

Digital Emotion - Go Go Yellow Screen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQM8mdpG6qc)

here's to the sound of 1982 gay bars!

That song kicks ass.

I listen to this stuff and I think "yes I must buy vintage Korg synths and Roland drum machines on eBay and lead a revival in dance music." Luckily I am too broke to implement this plan.

a companion piece: Digital Emotion wants you to GO AND WATCH THE YELLOW SCREEN, but Trans X commands you to STOP LIVING ON VIDEO

Trans X - Living On Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9xBAtCsCTQ)

I love this video for all the dope old 80s computers and also for being pretty much the most Eurotrash thing possible

Also, probably the best-known Italo track in America at this point, especially among nerds like us who all saw it in that one Ninja Turtle movie:

Baltimora - Tarzan Boy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r0n9Dv6XnY)

"Italo" was never a very precise descriptor for this stuff. Baltimora was actually fronted by an Irishman who I think was an early AIDS casualty.

(my old roommate the college radio DJ was obsessed with this shit, is why I have an unusual amount of Italo trivia at hand)

sometime I will do like a whole thread devoted to Patrick Cowley, because his tracks are so fuckin awesome.

god yes keep it coming your cheesy synths and ridiculous lyrics feed my sinister powers

Like I love this shit as much as BEAT loves horrible nerdcore.

Oh man Patrick Cowley. I just got hold of "Mindwarp" the other day. The whole album is on YouTube. Everything everyone said was unique or innovative about LCD Soundsystem was effectively plagiarised from Cowley.

yeah here we go: Patrick Cowley Mind Warp 1982 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rL1RkKz8dm8)

If I remember the timeline correctly, Cowley was dying and knew it through most of the making of that record.

on a cheerier note LASER DANCE - POWERRUN (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPHbyvXPxZs) & RADIORAMA - ALIENS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3DDZrthgb4)
