View Full Version : Staff ID: Konami USA box art dude?

You know the American box art to Konami/Ultra games in the late 80's/early 90's? The art that always looked wacky even when the subject matter wasn't supposed to be (Super C, Contra III, Jackal, etc)? Does anybody know the name of artist who did those covers?

(Makes me wonder if that person was the same one who did the pun-loaded manuals...)

I'd like to know who the guy/guys that did the first two Mega Man covers was/were.

At this point, they're probably dead.

Yeah, the syphilitic minds behind that stuff would surely have succumbed by this point.

Something you have to consider though: it wasn't just one person that was involved with the process. There were people who okayed the Mega Man box art. Surely they are equally culpable in the conspiracy to release that Tron-reject-neon ill-postured Miami Vice weird lump explosion cacaphony into the world.

Mega Man was a Capcom game.

Which, btw, reminds me of this running gag on the NeoGAF boards.

Which brings me to a question that only you guys might know, which has been bugging me for a decade:
Who did the Breath of Fire 2 art? Some of my favorite atwork ever.

Wouldn't you probably be in the most appropriate position to find this information of anyone on Talking Time Tomm?

Maybe the art wasn't done by actual persons, but robots. And those robots are dismantled now.

You have to steal the proper keycard from a gaurd on the second floor. Wait for him to go to the bathroom, but keep an eye out for the security camera.

Just wait until some of the guards feel asleep.

Kolbe
06-19-2007, 09:20 AM
You can hide in a cardboard box. Don't worry, your radar will show if the guard is falling asleep. Then, from behind, press the O button gently. Otherwise you'll cut his throat, and you don't want to do that.

Also, If you need help, you can access this forum by pressing the select button. Call us if you need any information or advice, Tomm.

Make sure you change out of your scientist uniform before attempting this! If you get blood on it, you'll have to hide out for awhile until it goes away.

Tomm, Lao Tzu says, "Heaven and earth do not act from any wish to be benevolent; they deal with all things as the dogs of the grass are dealt with."

Always remember that if you become nauseous, do as the dogs do and eat of the grass.

How's the sneaking suit working out? If you feel too cold, that's because you're probably not wearing it. The camouflage menu can be tricky. Bear with it.

Success of this mission is critical now- Contra 4 (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3160425) is coming and could use some old-school Konami box art.

Tomm, things are getting bad. Forget about finding the guy's art. You'll have to destroy the man itself ASAP. Sorry to lay it all on you, but you're our only hope.

Fabulous ruffles.

Ironic how they changed Eric Lecarde in the game to make him look like less of a bishounen, yet John is allowed to prance.

I also appreciate the very honest "GA" ("Game Appropriate for Everyone") rating for what was probably the bloodiest Castlevania game outside of Symphony of the Night. Those bones on the title screen are basting in a vat of cherry Kool-Aid, you know.

I hope the office has a blast furnace so Tomm can get the hot PAL key card. He can use the freezer in the staff lounge to get the cold PAL key card.

Tomm, it's time you knew the truth.

We believe a new type of Metal Gear is being developed there.

The Konami big-wigs are developing a new Metal Gear. This new prototype is called Metal Gear Solid 4. Yes, I know. You've deal with them in the past.

As you may already guessed, this new type of Metal Gear is far superior than its predecessors in terms of techology. Rumor has it, though, that Konami is investing A LOT of money in this little toy, and they need actual test data to see if they can get the money back.
