View Full Version : No need for a witty title: Let's play the Philips CD-i!

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/3952/vlcsnap2355401.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN1a_kyfPwY)

When you think of a multimedia CD player, which when used in conjunction with your television, opens up a gateway for interactive content (such as games, educational and children titles) what do you think of? Maybe the Tandy Video Information System (http://www.computercloset.org/TandyVIS.htm), or the Commodore CDTV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDTV)? Maybe even 3DO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3DO_Interactive_Multiplayer)? What if this system later had full MPEG support so you could watch movies from many (potential) Hollywood studios? Maybe even play some (probably crappy) FMV games? What if this system was the one that had all those shitty licensed Zelda and Mario games? Now you must know! It’s the Philips CD-i!

After I was done with Link - The Faces of Evil, I wanted to avoid doing the Zelda version so I asked what game I should do next. It then hit me that most people don’t know the games that were released on the CD-i besides those Nintendo ones (Or the ones Angry Video Game Nerd has talked about), so I figured now would be a best time to dive into the rest of the CD-i library and LP some of the other titles. Let’s just say that if you thought those Mario and Zelda games were crap… yeah... :-(.

Now some of you may be wondering, “Oh my god is he going to LP every single CD-I game? DON’T DO IT SAVE YOURSELF/DO IT I’LL BE FUNNY TO WATCH YOU SUFFER!” Don’t worry, I’m not going to. Here’s why I’m doing the LP like this; games like the length of “Link: The Faces of Evil” are few and far between. Most “games” that were released are pretty short, with only an hour or two of game play. I figured that by lumping them all into one LP, it would allow me to go through these shorter games while avoiding the queue lineup.

Also, there are some games that I could do a full LP on, like Dark Castle, but are so horrifically bad that I can’t beat them. In which case, until someone else really wants to slog through it (or if I figure out a way to get beat it), I’ll show you as much as I can.

Here are the list of games I plan on going through in this thread (more may be added later):

Cartoon Carnival
Cartoon Jukebox
Chaos Control
Dark Castle
Hotel Mario
Golden Oldies 1 and 2
International Tennis Open
Jack Sprite Vs The Crimson Ghost
Micro Machines
Mystic Midway: Phantom Express
Mystic Midway: Rest In Pieces
Moses: The Exodus
Noah’s Ark
Space Safari
Solar Crusade
Super Mario’s Wacky Worlds
Part 1 (http://www.gamespite.net/talkingtime/showpost.php?p=419863&postcount=19)
Part 2 (http://www.gamespite.net/talkingtime/showpost.php?p=419866&postcount=20)
Part 3 (http://www.gamespite.net/talkingtime/showpost.php?p=419876&postcount=21)
Thunder In Paradise (Staring Hulk Hogan!)
The Joy of Sex
Vegas Girls
The Wacky Wolf of Miniature Golf (Staring EUGENE LEVY)

If there is any game on that list that you want me to do first, just reply and we'll what everyone wants. After each LP, we'll have a mini-vote to see which one goes next. If no one cares, then I'll just pick.

So that's pretty much it, now let's play some games on the Philips CD-i! :-)

And as a special bonus:

The Joy of Sex
I can only imagine what this will be like. Is it based on the book?

03-07-2009, 09:48 PM

This thread is going to be rad as HELL.

03-07-2009, 09:53 PM
I can only imagine what this will be like. Is it based on the book?

Yes, and it's... well... it's a disappointment, or totally awesome depending on your perspective. The title leads you to think that it gives more than it does.

Also to say it right now, when I get to "Girls" and "Vegas Girls" (Two totally different games), they are softcore porn games... BUT unlike other systems which had those kind of games like the 3DO, the CD-i was fully uncensored, so you see "Tits and Vag", as it were. Not sure how I'm going to LP those games (Lots of NSFW or censoring), but it must be done!

This thread is going to be rad as HELL.

As stated in the Youtube title, he is from the game "Zombie Dinos From Planet Zeltoid". I won't cover that game in this thread because it is long enough that I can do a full LP on it. But with that song, I had to upload that now :-).

03-07-2009, 09:54 PM
Hang on to your space helmets!

If I'm not mistaken, is that Cam "Liquid Snake" Clarke doing the dinosaur's voice?

03-07-2009, 09:57 PM
Hang on to your space helmets!

This is really the first game to play.

We need to kick some brain back to where they come from (back to where they come from) to the far side of the moon.

If I'm not mistaken, is that Cam "Liquid Snake" Clarke doing the dinosaur's voice?

Er.. you know he's done a few things before that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cam_Clarke) right?

03-07-2009, 09:58 PM

This thread is going to be rad as HELL.

03-07-2009, 10:05 PM
Let me remind you: I'm NOT doing Zombie Dinos From Planet Zeltoid IN THIS THREAD. That's most likely getting it's own LP because it's long enough. It will be done, just not at the moment.

Now if we could all go back up to the list of shorter games and pick from that, everything will go just fine :)

03-07-2009, 10:06 PM
Yes, and it's... well... it's a disappointment, or totally awesome depending on your perspective. The title leads you to think that it gives more than it does.
Well I don't really care, I just had to laugh seeing the title. Hell, my parents have the book, it's about 20 feet away from me right now, and I even remember them encouraging my older brother to read it several years back. ahahahaha

03-07-2009, 10:07 PM
Do Super Mario's Wacky Worlds, since it was never released.

03-07-2009, 10:32 PM
I don't see EUGENE LEVY'S WACKY GOLF on that list, sir. Prepare for pain!

03-07-2009, 11:26 PM
Not sure how I'm going to LP those games (Lots of NSFW or censoring), but it must be done!

If possible, could you do all those images as links, even if they're censored? Or make a separate thread for the porny games?

Otherwise it seems like the thread will probably become unnecessarily dangerous . . .

Like, say, if someone who hadn't read your description above clicked on this thread, went to the most recent post, and suddenly had an unexpected eye-full of naked human flesh. I don't think everyone who sees the title "Let's Play Philips CD-i" immediately assumes they'll be stepping into a world of (even censored) full frontal nudity.

Leave the naughty bits uncensored but put them behind clearly-marked links. Everybody wins!

A friend of mine makes a show all about CDI games called Crap Digging Investigations (http://www.youtube.com/user/HalfBlindGamer).

03-08-2009, 08:21 AM
Right now I'm hacking away at the Super Mario's Wacky Worlds footage, but while I do that, have another bonus video!

Yeah, he's like the... really ubiquitous person... of voice acting.

Alright, now it's time to play Super Mario's Wacky Worlds:

Here's some background for those who don't know about this unreleased game:

In the early 90s, Nintendo and Sony signed an agreement to product a cross-platform console. Sony's "Play Station" would have Super Nintendo cartridge support, and Sony would develop a CD addon for Nintendo which would support Play Station games.

All was well and good, until Nintendo saw that Sony would retain the rights to both license and retain publishing profits from their system; in essence they were going to create a more open system. Nintendo hated this as they wanted strict control over licensing, so they killed the deal off... but neglected to tell Sony.

Sony announced at the 1991 CES their new cross-compatible CD system, the Play Station. Later, Nintendo would announce their new CD addon for the Super Nintendo... coming from Philips Electronics. Now, instead of the SNES playing Sony Play Station games, it would be compatible with Philips upcoming CD-i multimedia console. Nintendo would retain exclusive control over software licensing and Philips gained licensing over Nintendo characters (Such as Mario, Zelda, Link, and so on).

In the end, seeing how other CD based addon systems were doing in the market, Nintendo never released their addon for the SNES. Sony continued to develop their addon and, after scrapping and renewing the project, released the Playstation in 1995.

As for the CD-i... yeah, it did not do well at launch. As we will discover later on, the platform had massive amounts of problems from the start. The children games and educational self-help titles were not selling, and Hollywood did not embrace the VideoCD as Philips had hoped. But Philips still had licensing control over those Nintendo properties, and by 1993 decided to use them to push the CD-i toward gamers. Among those games were Hotel Mario, and the three Zelda titles. But along comes "Super Mario's Wacky World's", a direct sequel to Super Mario World.

Developed by Nova Logic over a frantic two weeks, this represents the 30% of the game they finished. So what happened to the game?

Silas [Warner] adds "The characters were pirated from a video feed, the level maps drawn off on paper, and John Brooks and I prepared to put in 24-hour days for two weeks. At the end of that time, we had a little bit of one level done, enough to display at an upcoming Nintendo developer meeting. The disk was burned at 4am on friday morning for an 8am meeting." Which leaves the question, why was the game never completed? "The effect was just what was expected. Nintendo marveled and applauded the marvelous job we had done in two weeks, then killed the idea. The CD-i wasn't selling. The project was over, and I went looking for new work." adds Silas.

Yeah, it was not going to happen.

But enough talk, let's play!

The first level I picked was Greek 1

As you can see, the Greek Koopa Troopa kinda just disappears when hit.

There are pipes around, but...

None of them work :(

Interesting, they don't fall... they also don't hurt you. There is no way to die in this game.

Time to enter the horse (By resetting the system and selecting Greek Level 2)!

Some Koopa Troopa Centurions.

And ah, walruses? Fair enough.

There are two ways out of the horse, but they don't lead anywhere.

Greek level 3 crashed my CD-i, so we can't see it :-(

And with that, we reset the system and head off to Egypt. This wacky enough for ya?

03-08-2009, 10:49 AM

Man, those Centurions really get around eh? The Greeks invaded Egypt.

After jumping on the Koopa pharaoh things, we run into the desert:

Until we come across another set of pipes that don't work. I would just reset the system and go to Egypt 2, but it also crashes the CD-i, but the third level works. However, that's just a a one panel desert shot.

Also, I want to make a quick note here: The controls are so slippery, you don't really feel you have total control over Mario. That being said, it's better than 90% of CD-i games.

Next, I went to the Pipeworks level:

Complete with vomiting Koopa head!

We also get to see the giant McDonald's\Mario sign. This, I assume, was going to be a portal to go to the next level, or back to a world map.

Next, we head off to the Arctic!

Looks like Mario and the Arctic Koopa are getting a little close :-)

The water effects don't look "that" bad, but a SNES can do this just fine... and so much more.

A door leading to nothing; also note the Greeks have invaded the Arctic as well.

Hey! A slanted jump!

Go right through it :-(.
Wonder why that happened? Let's go to Neon City!

Well, it's Neon all right. This stage was not finished, but we can see how their engine worked.

The blue spaces are solid and you can't go through them. The light green spaces you can jump through, but can't jump back down. But as you can see, there are no diagonal lines, so any slopes won't work correctly. Instead, everything has a stair step effect. With time, I'm sure this would have been fixed, but in the demo levels they used slopes a lot, so Mario tends to float off in space.

In the cave level, we see our old Faces of evil friends come back

03-08-2009, 11:02 AM
As we fly through the rest of the levels (most of which have nothing of interest in them, or don't work), we come across what has to be a protest on the Bhopal disaster.

Next we go to the haunted ship

There are no enemies in this level (If there were, it would probably be those damn Greeks)

Slants that don't work.

Oops, I hit a bug. Can't report it now I don't think :-)

And lastly, the portal out of the level (which does not work)

There are other levels to show, but again, most don't work or are just repeats of other levels. I have video footage I'm going to upload to youtube, but otherwise I think this LP is done.

Overall, it plays a hell of a lot better than most CD-i games... That's not saying a lot, but at least their intentions were somewhat in the right place.

03-08-2009, 11:24 AM
I would like to request just one screenshot of the Land o' Plaid to see what the hell a Land o' Plaid looks like.

It's the same as Neon City; I know, I was hoping for more too :-(

03-08-2009, 11:26 AM
These actually look pretty cool. It would've been interesting to see fully completed, and on a non-crap system, of course.

03-08-2009, 11:32 AM
Oops, forgot a screen shot: This is from the Haunted Castle

What the hell? Were they planing on tying Mario up? Or was this level suppose to be viewed in conjunction with The Joy Of Sex?

Moooom, the singing jukebox made my brain feel like burning.

Nightmares. Oh god, i'm not looking forward to trying to sleep after seeing this.

03-09-2009, 09:29 PM
Alright, Youtube was being stupid with some of my videos, but now it seems everything is uploaded. So let's get started!

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/8533/capturasdfasdfe.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svKLRJoIpN4)

Now as you can tell by the opening video, this is not really a "game" but "Interactive Education/Entertainment" for children. In it, you color in characters on screen with your remote, then watch as they preform a song. There are some interactive games, but it's limited.

Let's begin with the first song, Pop Goes The Weasel.

First, we got our monkey. Looking a little bland there, so lets spice him up.

What can I say, I got skills

We also got our weasel (Very important)

And our cobbler.

Gotta make sure the house is stylish.

And ah... whatever this will do.

So we colored everything we could in, so let's watch the video:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-3948530.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jErTVCiswlE)

I would just like to point out one image

Memories, I tell ya.

Next up is The Wheels on The Bus: This time I did not color every object, mostly because I did not want to mess up the original footage too much....

03-09-2009, 09:42 PM

We got our Bus driver.

Our ah... Old men?

A very large Smurf

And her effeminate husband.

and last but not least, a women with her alien babies

Let's begin!

This one is a bit long, so let's go through some key moments.

That old man has that stare again :-(

Even the bus hates children

They are outside the bus, with no seat belts! What the hell is going on in the UK!

Man, he means it.

What's weird is that on the title screen, the bus seemed happy. What happened?

Next up, we have "When The Saints Go Marching in!"

03-09-2009, 09:52 PM

We also got our weasel (Very important)

Rinaldi (http://www.gamespite.net/talkingtime/showpost.php?p=419485&postcount=927)'s long lost cousin?

Either way, I kinda want to punch the guy who drew these things in the throat.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-3967114.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_vw_Y4xc_8)

I did color these, but that's not the most important part of this video. In this song, each instrument gets its own solo, which you get to pick. Again, let's go over some key moments.

Poor drum, it gets literally stepped on for its solo.

And last, but not least (To haunt your nightmares)

and as a special bonus, an extra video!

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-3966875.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhmcrA-hyRg)

With the exception of the cowboy and horse, I left this one untouched. The rest of the videos (Old McDonald, a few Spanish ones, the ABC's) are pretty normal... well, for the CD-i anyway.

And that's pretty much it for this game. Please reply with requests for the next game :-)

(I also wanted to mention, the GIF's are lower quality because I wanted to try and make them larger. If you don't like it, post and I won't keep using them, or I'll try and make them shorter.)

There's got to be laws against playing your own anus in kiddie cartoons, even if you are a tuba.

I vote for Golden Oldies 1 or 2. I want to see what their idea of "oldies" was on a CDi in the mid nineties.

03-11-2009, 07:50 AM
I think I may have already lost focus with this LP. I just came to another shocking conclusion that it's hard for you all to nominate games because you have no idea what they are. I think I'll just end up picking them from this point forward.

I'm also thinking of removing some of the games from my initial list, because they are much harder to LP then I thought. For example, while "The Joy Of Sex" is really funny to watch, it does not have any real "game" element to it, and makes it hard to comment on anything. I may just upload the footage to my youtube account, but just link to it here instead of going through it by detail. Also games like "International Tennis Open" are really bad but there is not enough things to comment on. I'm pretty sure none of you want to see "Wow, the controls suck!" repeated over and over.

As for the next game I'm going to post, it's probably going to be either Moses: The Exodus, Noah's Ark, or Voyeur.

For Moses, while AVGN did kinda cover it in his last Christmas video, there is a bit more comedy gold to uncover that he left out (As anyone who saw the full "Moses and Me" video on my youtube page will attest to). Noah's Ark is in the same vain as the Moses game, but is even more whacked out. Voyeur is political/murder mystery and, shockingly, a pretty fun game (and very NSFW, something I know you all will appreciate).

So yeah, I'm going to refocus this thread on really "playing" a game, rather than just interactive content or movies. If anyone wants to see those other children interactive games then post and I'll see if it's worth it, but I don't think anyone is enjoying it, so there's no point in doing them.

03-14-2009, 11:01 AM
Pyramid Pursuit!

Sorry for not posting more updates; Being in College, having midterms, and trying to play a shit load of CD-i games, it can be a bit problematic. But in any case, let's play Pyramid Pursuit!

Before I begin, as there are no subtitles for any of the characters, I uploaded their voice overs to youtube. It's just the audio, so scroll over the pictures and if you see a link you can right click and open it in a new tab to hear it, then close it when it's done.

With that out of the way,
Included with the multimedia children bible CD "Moses: The Exodus".

We enter the pyramid. If you're wondering who the character we're controlling is... I can't tell you, because the game does not say. I assume it's really us (the player) going in, somewhat breaking the forth wall.

Everything seems okay so fa....

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1345637.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKs16LyLIUg)

Great, now we're trapped. The only way out is to use our wits and God... mostly God.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1345943.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsBlnTjxaZY)

Alright, the narrator did not help us, so it's up to me to pick where to go. So let's go left.

The women said that a man that "needs" help is to the left, so he must be important.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1346386.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHLArdIPN8k&feature=channel_page)

Sorry, I don't give handouts. Straight means "yes", and going right means "no", so I had to go right.

And now starts my first in a series of errors. I get the shit beat out of me, and put somewhere else in the pyramid.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1347311.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6ugitBuxzo&feature=channel_page)

The frog is probably a leftover from the plagues, so we're going to go straight.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1347768.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqI-ucsDojs&feature=channel_page)

A slave gives me some very useful advice! I go left.

Thanks a lot slave! Now I'm about to be stabbed thanks to you! I try to swing my CD-i remote in the air to get him away from me, but then I realize that it's not a Wii and that won't work :-(

So instead of going left, I go right and...

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1348131.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc8Bps9HRC0)

Really, what the fuck is with the voice overs in this game? Did anyone think this was good? Really? What the fuck.

But I digress, next we go right.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1348306.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEYdMphol9Y&feature=channel_page)

Danger? We'll then I have to go left!

Well, the narrator said God could help me across, but I don't trust him/her/it. So down the hole I go!

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1348627.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0CAcxSEU_c&feature=channel_page)

And I'm dead! What happens now?

Up next, the thrilling conclusion to Pyramid Pursuit!

03-14-2009, 11:20 AM
Scroll up for part 1!

So now we have to start all over again, this time we are set up against the begger.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1348893.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NghmaGusPs0&feature=channel_page)

This time, let's help him out.

So I did not slight God this time? Sweet!

The alternative VO for this room is "If you're a queer, go right"

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1349396.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKME5kTFcZk&feature=channel_page)

Sorry bird man, there is only one God for me! Let's go straight...

Another set of "WHAT THE FUCK" VO. Let's go left, just to annoy these two.

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1349862.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn1RUwJ5jOQ&feature=channel_page)

Look at that light! We must be getting close!

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d159/innerlogic/vlcsnap-1349992.png (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vJPjWs7E-g&feature=channel_page)

Look, you have me kinda interested, but God needs me so I have to go left.

YES! Nearly there! But oddly enough, while you can go straight ahead, you can BACK OUT and go into the Pyramid again... why? Who would want to do that?

We are free! Now we can join the rush out of Egypt! Now you may be wondering why we were in the pyramid at all since we were just going to leave Egypt anyway... well...

Look! Moses!

And that's the end of this one folks!

03-14-2009, 12:18 PM
That - that's it? That's the game?

How much did that cost back in the day?

03-14-2009, 12:26 PM
That - that's it? That's the game?

How much did that cost back in the day?

It's a small part of a larger multimedia CD-i disc. There is a longer "movie" about Moses, and other odds and ends (like songs, connect the dots, coloring)

For a CD-i itself, most models went for around $500 (Not counting the Digital video addon, which cost another $250). I'm not sure about the game.

But, but...

A wise choice is a straight one!

Okay everyone, now that we went through a bible game it's time to delve into everyone's favorite game genre, Gambling Soft-core porn! Let's play Vegas Girls!

That's the title screen, and no, it's not you, the sign is messed up. You see Philips, who published about 90% of CD-i titles, had nothing to do with this one. And as you see the clips later on, you'll know why.

So first, we have to enter a passcode (have to keep the little kiddies out of course). The default is 1234.

And now we can play! We have a wide selection of games to choose from, from blackjack and dice, to a nice game of fruit machine!

But before we do any of that, let's pick a girl first.

This is how the game works: You pick a girl, then play one of the "Vegas" games. After that you have to win a certain amount in each game, and if you get enough chips you get to see your girl start stripping. Each video is split into several parts however, so you have to keep playing the games to see the goods (I however got around this, as you'll see later).

So the first game we play is Blackjack. Seems normal enough, just a normal game of 21.

Got 11, feelin' frisky so I double down

And boom! I win! And I bet enough that I automatically get the first clip!

Don't see much yet, but we gotta keep goin'!

Next, we got dice.

And I win again on the first try! It's like the game just wants me to show clips!

Now we have roulette. Again, pretty simple. This time, I bet 500 down on both even and odd, so I win no matter what, and...

I won again! I get another clip!

NSFW CLIP 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uektMhMg5I)

How about some fruit machine? If only this was made by Apple :-(

We pull and the leaver and...

I guess I won again? I don't know, coins came out, but I don't know what I did. In any case, it gave me another clip.

NSFW CLIP 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unyuwy5M1GU)

So now we have one last game to play, Poker.

There's only one problem though, it's totally broken. It's completely random if the game will save your selected cards, or just change them anyway.

By the time I did win, the game decided to crash so I could not get the last clip... until I put the CD-i disc in my computer and used ISO buster to rip the MPEG clips out.

NSFW CLIP 5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWZvmt-nLqY)

Now, I was thinking about uploading them all to youtube, or another file sharing site, but really I don't think there's any point. It's just a women stripping, nothing more. Also, the music they put behind them is so WRONG that it made me laugh out loud.

So since they were behind a blue screen, I made my own music edition of the "Vegas Girls" women showing there stuff, as it were.

MUSIC EDITED BLUE SCREEN NSFW CLIP (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd18-PXqgpM)

And that's it folks, got another one coming up, I think/hope, tomorrow.

EDIT: Turns out, Youtube does not like women stripping. Someone flagged the clips and Youtube sent me some warnings about them, so I took them down.

But I want to make it up to you all, so I uploaded all the clips into one RAR file and put it on Mediafire

So here's the new link! (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=67c6a1ced465d5bebda4076e811714c8e04e75f6 e8ebb871)

I never understood the appeal of porno games. I mean if you want some porn, go get you some porn. Eliminate the middleman, you know?

At least with CD-i, you get to "see" something. If this was a 3DO, you would have only got women dancing, no "Tit or Vag" is it were :-(

Not like I've played 3DO porn games or anything, or studied them for future youtube videos >_>

After showing you all that smut in "Vegas Girls" (And the other softcore games I have lined up), I think I need to be redeemed by God to save this thread. So while I work on the other games, here is a song from the game/movie/multimedia disc "Noah's Ark"

Or as I like to call it, "U and I are Lifepartners: The Movie".

Enjoy! :-D

Alright, I got one more video to post, then I'll start posting full game LP's again (Provided anyone cares, there's few comments so I don't know if the games I'm picking are any decent. Please, tell me so I know what to do or not do.). Also, sorry about removing the Vegas Girls clips from youtube (they gave me warnings), but I uploaded them on Mediafire, so the link above should be fine)

But I think this song gives Zombie Dinos a run for its money

Hey now, I care! I've just been following along silently since I didn't really have much to contribute beyond "lol wut" or "this sux". I think you're doing fine.

On another note, the summary for Girl's Club! PARTY! left me lollin' hard.

Yeah, I'm having a blast watching these.

Admittedly it did get pretty awkward last night when someone I don't talk to often asked me what I was doing and I told them I was watching someone else's record of playing a porn game over the internet. But that's part of the fun!

Back in 1995 (when this game was released) porn was less accessible. Especially to those under a certain age that might own a CDI.
That being said, I've never actually played a porn game so I have no idea what the actual appeal of them is other than nudity and I guess some small level of interactivity with said nudity.

An update about my updates: It's going to be a few days before I can post another video. I was going to post a CD-i marketing disc from 1993 (And all the weird Newspeak Philips was doing with retailers) but the hard drive I had the videos on decided it was a good time to stop working.

I was able to recover most of my files from the drive, but the CD-i rips, being high quality MPEG2, were too big and got lost. As a result, I have to go back and rip all the games I had lined up again. This time I may just make a video LP with commentary, but I don't know yet.

In any case, don't worry, I'll have more coming up :-)

The Joy of Soy?

Yeah, I posted this at 1 AM, and I got a bit lazy with the image ;-).
For anyone wondering why the video looks a little off center, it's because it's in PAL, and my TV tuner acts weird when playing the videos.

Later today, I'll post my commentary and more videos from it. If you think this one was weird, just wait :-D

Alright, I think I'm calling an end to this LP right now. I was just going to postpone it until I could figure out what other games to do (and to help open up the LP queue), but the rest of the games I have in mind (Voyeur, The Apprentice, Zombie Dinos, and so on) are much better suited for a single LP thread; where I can devote more of time to one game then just uploading random footage to youtube.

Also the other shorter games I did take footage of, while they are funny and interesting, are very hard to LP. They are nearly all FMV based, and unless I do a video LP I can't really show you any of it.

So yeah, I'm calling an end to this thread. Thanks to anyone who enjoyed it, even if it was just random videos most of the time http://www.gamespite.net/talkingtime/images/icons/icon6.gif

Thanks for the surreal tour of the PlayStation that wasn't!

As short as it was, it was pretty entertaining and very educational. Who new the CD-i sucked that badly?

But seriously, thanks for playing!

Oh, I'm still planning on doing other CD-i LP's, but they just don't fit with this thread and need more individual attention; so I figured I would just close this thread in general. And IMO, just uploading Youtube videos which I've been doing (Unless you do commentary, which I can't) is pretty lame, and the games deserve more (However shitty, or not so shitty, they may be).
