I'm a yummy little strawberry
You can blend me to puree
You can put me in your yucky coffee
Promise I'll do the best I can

I'm a fat little strawberry
And I can squish a blueberry
Apples don't stand a chance against me
'Cause I do the best I can

I'm a cute little strawberry
Put me on the top of your head
Put me on top of your pink milkshake
Promise I'll do the best I can

A great thing to do in the summer is to make strawberry sorbet with basil. The basil becomes really floral and complements the strawberry taste really well!

Sliced up strawberries in between two layers of a layer cake. You need more frosting to get the layers to stick as well as normal, but it's amazingly delicious. Save a few uniformly pretty strawberries to decorate the top when you're done.

I learned that trick from CardCaptor Sakura. The episode where she got the Sweets card.

Monda, you would love Japan in wintertime. December/January is strawberry season and EVERYTHING is strawberry flavored.

I go to asian grocery stores primarily because they have strawberry flavored candy. That and really good noodles/rice.

I wonder why its that time of year? I grow strawberries at home and they usually bloom the best in late spring and early summer.

I have no idea. It's entirely unnatural, to my knowledge. They grow them in green houses, including in my town. As far as I can tell someone just decided that this would be strawberry season.

We threw a party a few years back, and a friend had stopped at a fruit market on the way over and bought 6 containers of strawberries, because they were on some kind of incredible sale. He sliced them up, doused them in tequila and powdered sugar, and left them in a tupperware container for 3 or 4 hours.

I now make these at almost every party I throw (when it would be appropriate, anyway). Tequila strawberries are soo soo good. Also, there is usually some juice + tequila left at the end of the night that you can do shots with.

a fun boozy blended drink for parties is making a slushie with frozen strawberries, frozen lemonade, vodka, and ginger root. (Cherries also work. Frozen limeade is good with frozen peaches, too!)

not every year. Japan picks a new flavor every season, and they rotate through, without repeats in consecutive years.

I'm a big fan of strawberry flavored stuff especially drinks and candy. My biggest weakness is strawberry Mentos; not too tart, not too soft, not too hard, they are just right.

Yay! I need to rewatch it. And those slippers are awesome. I am fascinated by Japanese sweets. They're so DAINTY! Dainty enough you could try everything and not feel like a total fatass. (Or less of one anyway.)

Strawberries on their own tend to be too strongly tart for me, but I do love them as part of something or as a simple flavoring. I've the urge to have strawberries & sweet cream now.

I feel the same. Sometimes I crave plain strawberries, but strawberry and chocolate are soul mates, and they belong together.

You know what's awesome? Instead of putting strawberry jello in the ice box to set, drink it hot, you think tea is good for stomach aches and sore throats? pshaw.
