Would Samwise approve of these potatoes?

It's National Baked Potato Day.

So do you like this potato preparation?

If you do then:
What do you like on them?
Once or Twice?
What are your thoughts on crispy skin?

Baked potatoes are just enough for me.

I like butter and sour cream on mine (and maybe some pepper). From time to time I also like cheese, bacon and chives in there as well.

Twice are nice but I vastly prefer my family's recipe over any others.

When it comes to crispy skin I could take it or leave it.

Baked/fried/whipped/mashed/smashed/boiled/roasted/broiled potatoes are never enough for me.

Twice-cooked is great, but the traditional baked potato has the unique pleasure of mashing as you go, so it depends on my mood.

Baked potatoes are fine; I like to load them with all the usual things until they're not the least but healthy so I don't do it too often. Baked fingerlings in some nice spices is less trouble. Twice-baked is tasty but decidedly more trouble.

Mashed is best. Use butter or milk to make them but don't need them on top, just some salt and a good main or gravy.
Then today must be your day because it's National Mashed Potato* Day.

So here's some random questions I had about how people eat that dish:
If the mashed potato(es) don't have gravy then is it OK to eat them with a fork?
And is it still OK even if they have gravy on them?

*But I guess you can only put one in there so it better be a big one.

I have never eaten mashed potatoes with anything other than a fork, regardless of how they were prepared, and it would never occur to me to.
That said, I guess a spoon would work fine?

It can be easier to scoop up the last few bites if you're using a spoon. And you can use the spoon to re-distribute the gravy. But both of those depend on the consistency of each of those items.

I feel like mashed potatoes are one of those things you can eat with literally any utensil. Though, uh, I guess be careful not to cut your tongue if all you have handy is a knife.

I made some mashed potatoes the other day and ended up with too much. The next morning, with a little extra flour and milk, they became potato pancakes. Mmmmm
