Oh! And @lincolnic, I keep forgetting to mention here that I saw a kestrel flying across the highway here in Jersey the other day. It made me hope yours is doing OK.
Hey nice! Glad you spotted one as well. I haven't seen mine again since, but my girlfriend did spot some kind of falcon (or possibly hawk, unclear) up on a very tall building around the corner from our house. Apparently she sees them there pretty frequently! We're not sure if they have a nest there or if they just like the vantage point (it's twice as tall as all the surrounding buildings).

Definitely the dude. I wouldn't want to chase a japanese schoolkid around even if he did have a tasty milkshake. I can get my own milkshake. (I know that's probably not a milkshake.)
