I don't want to be caught by the Cancel Police, but I don't think it's controversial to say that a sandwich is a kind of food
So half the games I thought are worth mentioning this week are also dirt cheap, and fully half of THAT number is represented by Power of Ten, a space-shippy pew-pew em-up that the trailer it looks like it's a 2D adaptation of Endless Space. Or perhaps a more arcade-y Fallen London (except it takes place above the sky, instead of Under the Dirt). Maybe Galak-Z? Whichever point of comparison most sings to you, that is the description you can take to the bank, buster!
The other dirt cheap game that made me go "Oh, there's something here..." is Crypt Stalker, which looks like it's taking a page from the Curse of the Moon games; but while those were upscaled NES style Castlevania games, this are somewhat more authentically retro looking Gameboy Castlevania games. Which is a little less enticing since a solid 66% of those were awful, but it still looks like A Fun Time. It looks like you can play in either GBC or Regular GB style mode, and the screen layout is a little different.
Castle vainly, why don't you?
This weeks big release is Princess Peach: Showtime, the first entirely Peach-focused game since that one on the DS that ended with a joke about sex toys. This one seems to not offer that particular accolade and is instead something more Kirby-ish where Peach dons different outfits that grant bespoke powers to pulverize monsters, solve puzzles and generally get around the place.
And bringing up the rear is Legend of Legacy HD, which is a bit of a pleasant surprise since the original release of the game was kind of overshadowed by its much better successor; Alliance Alive. But THIS TIME... Alliance Alive HD has been out for years, and its main selling points of being a new SaGa game for the first time in years is kind of under served by there having been a number of new SaGa games, and their remasters, since then and a newer one still coming out soon.
HOWEVER... it's still got that Good Good SaGa dungeon crawling gameplay and also a Frog as a major playable character and that's what's important.
Visit scenic "An island with too many monsters and dungeons" and level up one stat at a time as you explore them!
That's all! Light week this week.
