It's weird how in the Manga Josuke is built like a brick shithouse, then gets very lean.

JoJo characters did get progressively slimmer as the overall series progressed. It's weird how in the Manga Josuke is built like a brick shithouse, then gets very lean.
It gets somewhat better (particularly, better than the Lisa Lisa stuff), though it will be peppered in there sometimes still. There won't be a female lead character until part 6.The end of Battle Tendency and start of Stardust Crusaders did have a not insignificant amount of discreet and not so discreet sexism. (Lisa Lisa facing verbal jabs about being 'just a woman' from Kars, Holly being injured by her Stand because she's 'not a fighter') Is this constant throughout the series or does it become less persistent later on?
Every JoJo has a different tone from the next. Stardust Crusaders going 'monster of the week' is a thing for a while until it isn't, when battles begin to become a little more drawn out (which is a good thing, believe it or not). The pace will flip about halfway through the series, once the Joestars & Co hit their destination in Egypt. The entire final arc of Stardust Crusaders is still one of my favorite things ever. It's the JoJo (admittedly haven't seen past 5 yet) that most epitomizes the "Bizarre Adventure" conceit of the series.I've completed Battle Tendency and started Stardust Crusaders and the shift in tone between the two is fairly noticeable. It feels much more 'monster of the week' now, but that's not a complaint. It's still entertaining and ridiculous as all get out.
I remember that being the nadir of Part 3. There are some not so great moments peppered through the rest of the series, but if my memory holds up it doesn't get much worse. Or maybe I just memory holed it.Might have spoken too soon on the whole gross sexism thing, because now while rescuing a child Jotaro, in trying to find out if the child is a boy or a girl, outright gropes her chest and I'm just like "DUDE".
Definitely agree!I love the reveal that the effed up way the baddie was eating a cherry wasn't actually a tell and Jotaro kinda got lucky.
I don't remember the exact specifics, but yes it's censorship, and it existed before it was on Netflix. If you don't wanna see that stuff, I think you have to watch on BD or sail the seven seas. One thing I've noticed is a lot of black shadows conspicuously covering the screen at times, like whenever things may get particularly gorey or when Jojo lit up a cigarette. Is that a Netflix edit or was it in the broadcast?
When you put it that way lol. For me the climax was very effective. The buildup of Dio as this almost invincible character that has not only murdered multiple Stardust Crusaders, but personally put an end to multiple generations of Joestars. Dio seemed like he was on the precipice of a final victory, but his arrogance led to a split second fatal mistake that let Jotaro come out on top. Also, mans coming in with a road roller out of nowhere is just legendary stuff/a great climax.Dio's final defeat felt a touch underwhelming, Jotaro punches him in his stand's shin real hard and then Dio's torso explodes.
